Gargoyles

Long made a post about his picture of the Duc Ba Cathedral and how the gutters kind of spoiled the look. Here are some images of gargoyles. They were traditionally used as sculptures on the edges of buildings to channel the water from the roof, off the building. The rain water usually comes out their mouths... but sometimes is pours off from other places too ;-P

They were designed to look so ugly to scare away evil spirits. A bit like the same principle as the eyes on Vietnamese boats.

i really like these gargoyles ,they look ugly however they are not scary as they look like, they make the building look more grand! they are appropriate for classic architecture such as grand castle, church... i would like my house to have these gargoyles :)-

i also really like something complicated from the house such as these gargoyles for drain water sys, or may be some button to push to go to the secret chamber. :)-
