Handle Photoshop is definitely challenging. Not because, it is hard to use as i think that it is all about time. But the wide range of effects and enhancements which are available can easily make us confused.
Even if i use simple photoshop fonctions for a while, i'm never satisfied with this colour, this effect or this layout. Finally, it becomes very fructrated to feel like i will never complete my work.
With this software, "simple is the best" takes its real signification.
With this software, "simple is the best" takes its real signification.
Trying to use and mix too many effects and our design become kitsh and merely hurt my eyes!
I decide to post this saturday morning work before save it in my hard disk's "unfinished design file" and finally forget it.
As I wrote above: It is all about time and brainstorming often take a while.
This is my original pictures of bread i used:
As the bread edges are sharp, i used the magnetic lasso tool to make my path. I used the pen tool for the croissant as edges are obviously curved.
After, i pasted bread and croissant on the my new 800x600 document. I layout the bread on the left bottom part like on the original picture. It is mainly because edges are rectangular. I superposed the croissant on the right part of the bread.
I used two "drop shadow" technics: The photoshop "blending option method" for the bread. And the "free transformed, black filled copy of the croissant" for the croissant.
As you can see, the difference is that: there is a shadow on the upper part of the bread.
Then, i set up my background with a gradient overlay of red-orange. I chose this hot and "breadness" color as it simply make me think of an oven.
I used a couple of effects on the pictures: selective color - photo filter and level adjustment.
Finally, the most difficult was to add the text. Actually, i'm still not satisfied with this part.
I think that the font suit the subject. It reminds me fonts usualy used on the traditionnal French bakery window.
Basicaly, I think that font choice is culturaly dependant.
Therefore, i tried to "dress up" my typo with some effects but it is the step when thousand possibilities present.
Here, the final result:

LYnn-Lee.
yami yami...^^.....You make me feel hungry. I like this ^^
The picture that you create looks good but only 1 things that I don't like is the color of text. It is not really suitable, I think darker color will be more effective ^^ . ( Oh, it's just my idea, :") )
Oh,Look at what did you do! It look delicious ^^. The way you use shadow and the color of the background intense the clor of these bread. Great work!
That's impressive, Charly XD I like the colour, but like you said, I think the font should be changed... Maybe a sans-serif one will do? Hmm... Or maybe juz simply b'cuz I prefer sans-serif XD
